Balalaiker 6S is a special series of double strings balalaikas. This kind of balalaikas became extremely popular in the late 19th - early 20th centuries and spread both in Russia and abroad. The six-string was produced by private craftsmen, village artels and large factories. Until now, some foreign manufacturers produce such balalaikas. In our latitudes, the six-string model was produced at the Postyshev Chernigov Music Factory (until the second half of the 1990s). Balalaiker has restarted the production of the famous six-string balalaikas based on the Balalaiker Sputnik model.
The body is made of five inlaid rivets (maple, birch) and knitted according to the historical technology of "knitting into a handle". Maple neck with birch fingerboard. Scale standard 16-fret size 435 mm. Single open-type peg system. The deck is made of resonant spruce. A distinctive wooden tie on the heel of the neck. Special pear stand.
