Balalaiker Sputnik-T is a popular balalaika model with a five-riveted body and an improved finish. This type of balalaika was popular in pre-revolutionary Russia and was later inherited by the Soviet music industry. The main features of the instrument: a medium-sized body of five wooden dabs, bright sound and concise finish. These qualities make the instrument as accessible as possible to musicians and balanced in their acoustic characteristics.
Balalaiker Sputnik was created on the basis of artel five-clad balalaikas of the Middle Volga region (Samara and Ulyanovsk region) and early five-clav samples of the Leningrad musical instrument factory named after Lunacharsky (1930s).
