    This piece can be purchased as a custom sheet for your own craft. All blanks have one 80000 Grit side sanded. This is not a finished product, but a billet for your subsequent do-it-yourself work. There may be scratches and small cavities on the surface. The size of the product is always specified "minus the uneven edge".
    Mokume-gane, or "wood-eye metal," is a labor intensive an old world Japanese metal smithing technique similar to Damascus steel.
    It involves layering different colored metals together then using heat and pressure to cause the metals to fuse together.
    Once fused the piece is carved into a topography and flattened to create the beautiful patterns.
